Crisis prevention

Crisis Prevention Planning

Meltdown, shutdown, panic, sensory overload, trauma response, and safety planning for public systems and families.

Public pathway

The goal is not to win a confrontation. The goal is to prevent harm and restore communication.

This page separates escalation risks from support needs: sensory overload, panic, shutdown, meltdown, medical distress, confusion, trauma response, and unsafe environmental pressure.

Support modules

Build the support around the person and the setting.

01

Reduce demands first

Lower noise, language, touch, crowding, questions, and time pressure before expecting flexible problem solving.

02

Use the person’s communication mode

Writing, AAC, card, gesture, silence, or a trusted support person may be the safest route.

03

Check medical causes

Pain, medication issues, dehydration, seizures, blood pressure, glucose, infection, and sleep loss can look behavioral.

04

Document prevention

After the event, record triggers, helpful responses, harmful responses, and what should change next time.

Interactive access planner

Choose the person, setting, and need. Get a usable first route.

This planner does not diagnose or replace professional judgment. It turns common access problems into practical next steps: written communication, sensory planning, school supports, daily routines, crisis prevention, and resource navigation.

Needs before judgment.
